Great Advice from a Disney Executive

Earlier in the week, I sent out this tweet which sparked some introspection as well as some great conversations. I was inspired by a news report of Anne Sweeney's announcement as the co-chair, of Disney Media Networks and president, of Disney/ABC Television Group late last week.  She is stepping down from one of the most powerful positions in the entertainment business to pursue something different.

Her statement, "If not now, when?" really stuck with me and I haven't been able to get it out of my head ever since.

She's leaving the safety and security of a position in which she is highly respected and well compensated to do something she wants to do. Sure it's a risk. Though one could argue her future is more likely secure as her reputation in the industry helps her chances for success in whatever she pursues independently, there are no guarantees in life. She's still taking a risk. She's hanging it out there to take that chance.

So what about you?

What risk are you not taking? What passion, project, business, or career change are you not pursuing?

Whatever "It" is for you Ms. Sweeney's advice may help inspire you as it has me.

"If not now, when?

Well? Maybe now is upon you too!

Ripple On!!!
